Back for More (Now On a Permanent Basis, Hopefully!)

With the fast approach of the Oscars and the recommencement of new TV shows, along with a number of exciting finales, it’s high time that I pay more attention to ye olde blog. Especially since the month of January gives filmaholics like me an excuse to make lots and lots of arbitrary lists, and the holiday season gives us a chance to catch up on movies and TV shows we may have missed or fallen behind on.

So what do you have to look forward to? Well, tune in tonight for another batch of short movie reviews, because I watch a lot of movies. Later this week, you’ll be sure to find the beginning of a number of Top 10 lists, from this year’s crop of new movies and TV shows to the best performances and more random things that I feel like discussing, like opening themes and jokes about Jerry Gergich. Hooray! There’s lots of new content to come, and I promise that if you stick around, you’ll at least know who Ricky Gervais lampoons at the Golden Globes this year (my prediction: the cast of “Carnage” will not escape unscathed).

Few, if any, recent films have portrayed the struggles of romance as poignantly as “Like Crazy.” A cast with chemistry, superb acting, and a well-paced, devastatingly spare plot elevate this tale of star-crossed lovers to a class of its own.
